Hadas Nortov On Building The Team Behind The World's Most Advanced In-Game Advertising Platform

Anzu boasts some amazing talent from around the world, with employees stretching across Tel Aviv, London, Turkey, Berlin, and the US. It’s easy to see a company as the sum of its parts. Still, it’s important to remember that behind the numbers, headlines, logos, and flashy showreels sit some incredible individuals working towards the shared goal of reaching every gamer on the planet, fuelled by a passion for all things video games!

To shine a light on some of these stars, we’ll be interviewing several Anzu employees to understand what they get up to, what drives them to come to work in the morning, and of course, what games they like to play. In this post, we caught up with Hadas, Anzu’s Talent Acquisition Specialist.

Who are you, and what do you do at Anzu?

I'm Hadas, and work as our Talent Acquisition Specialist here at Anzu in Tel Aviv HQ.

If your grandma asked you to describe your role to her, how would you explain it?

I connect with talented people and help match them to roles we have in Anzu.

Anzu is growing at an exciting rate. How long have you been with the company? And what changes have you seen happen during your time there?

I've been working here for a year and a half, and a lot has happened in that period of time! From an HR perspective, we have more than doubled ourselves, opened new sites around the world, added new processes, platforms, and hosted an incredible offsite, flying all our global team into Tel Aviv for the week. It has been a whirlwind but extremely exciting!

What makes Anzu different from other places you’ve worked at?

Many of the people have known each other for years and bring their friends to work with us, so it creates a very pleasant atmosphere to work in. In addition, everyone is super professional and knows what they are doing, so there is a feeling that you are constantly learning new things.

What gets you most excited about the company’s future?

As part of my role, I talk to many people every day and hear how special Anzu's solution is for gamers and advertisers. It constantly reminds me of the reason why I joined the company and our vision to empower marketers to communicate with every gamer on the planet in a positive way. With everything that's happened over the past 12 months, and how quickly we have grown, I can't wait to see where we will be in a year's time!

If you could share one reason why people should join Anzu, what would it be?

I said this before but we have an awesome team made up of people of all different backgrounds spread across the world from Tel Aviv to London to New York. This has fostered a really exciting way of doing things and with lots of different outlooks on life and thought processes happening, it means we can experiment and work in some really exciting ways.

What's your preferred gaming platform and your favorite game?

I really like VR, especially Beat Saber, I am also a big mobile gamer, and love to play lots of hyper casual games.

With over 3.2BN players worldwide, video games are becoming more and more central to many of our lives. Why do you think this is and what makes them so appealing?

Due to Covid-19 and lockdowns we all had to stay at home for a very long time and this naturally had a big impact on video gaming. Personally, during this time, we purchased a few game consoles and I definitely saw a connection between these two things. Gaming helped us pass the time and connect with friends who we weren’t able to see in person.

Finally, Anzu is a very busy place, how do you find your work/life balance?

I love it! We host some really fun events in the office each week to encourage everyone to come together and take some time out of their day to just enjoy each others company and appreciate all the hard work we put in. And when I say fun events I really do mean fun! We have had a pop up McDonald's, a gelato machine, a summer swag launch, and even a piñata!

At the same time, it is also great to have the option to work from home during the week, especially when I need to focus and it also saves me time commuting in, as the traffic in Tel Aviv can often be horrendous as those living in Israel will know all too well!

Interested in joining Anzu? We have lots of open roles across the globe, check them all out here.
